RSS feeds?

I’m slowly but surely starting to understand RSS feeds. Maybe understand, but not quite enough to actually be able to use. I would like to be able to add some feeds from news sources and from the publishing world. The New York Times has a whole page full of RSS feeds but it seems like a fair number would require the reader to register. Eventually I would like to be able to create RSS feeds for the library, i.e. have our own that would include programming information, new purchase and the like that patrons could subscribe to. Hopefully, I’m not biting off more than I can chew. This is an example of one that is currently working…or at least appears to be working.
